Official Rules: Best Marketing Hack Contest
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. THIS IS A SKILL-BASED CONTEST. WINNERS ARE NOT SELECTED AT RANDOM.
1. Sponsor
The Contest is sponsored by DemandBox ("Sponsor"). LinkedIn does not sponsor, endorse or administer this Contest and is not associated with it.
2. Eligibility
Open to individuals who (1) are at least 21 years old at the time of entry; (2) work in marketing, growth, product marketing or a related role, or are a founder doing marketing, in the cybersecurity industry; and (3) hold, or can obtain in time, a valid passport and any visa needed to travel to the United States. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. Residents of countries or regions subject to U.S. sanctions cannot enter. Employees, contractors and immediate family members of Sponsor, and anyone involved in running or judging the Contest, cannot enter.
3. Contest period
Starts October 18, 2026, 12:00 a.m. ET and ends October 25, 2026, 11:59 p.m. ET. Sponsor's clock is the official timekeeper.
4. How to enter
Enter either (a) via the form at demandbox.co/giveaway, or (b) by posting your hack as a comment on Sponsor's official Contest post on LinkedIn. Each entry must describe a marketing tactic you have personally used or tested, in English, in 1,000 characters or fewer. One entry per person; only the first counts. By entering you confirm your hack is your own original work, does not infringe anyone's rights, and does not reveal confidential information of your employer or anyone else. Sponsor may disqualify offensive, unlawful, plagiarized or off-topic entries. Entries generated by automated means are void.
5. Judging
A panel chosen by Sponsor scores all eligible entries: Originality 40%, Practicality 30%, Results 30%. Highest total score wins. Ties are rescored on Originality alone. Judges' decisions are final.
6. Prize
One winner receives two (2) full conference passes to Cybersecurity Marketing Con in Austin, Texas, November 2026 (one for the winner, one for a guest), and round-trip economy airfare to Austin for the winner and guest from a major commercial airport chosen by Sponsor near the winner's home. Sponsor chooses airline, route and dates. All other costs (hotel, meals, ground transport, baggage, insurance, passport/visa, taxes) are the winner's responsibility. The prize is non-transferable and has no cash alternative. Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
7. Winner notification
Winner announced on or about October 27, 2026 and notified by email or LinkedIn message. The winner must reply within 48 hours and sign the Winner Agreement within 72 hours, or the prize may go to the next-highest-scoring eligible entry. The guest must be 21+ and sign a release before travel.
8. Taxes
The winner is responsible for all taxes on the prize and may be asked for IRS Form W-9 or W-8BEN.
9. Publicity and use of entries
Where permitted by law, entering lets Sponsor use your name, job title, company, LinkedIn photo and hack in content about the Contest without further payment. You keep ownership of your hack and grant Sponsor a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to publish, quote and adapt it.
10. Privacy
Sponsor uses your information to run the Contest and contact the winner, and to send marketing emails only if you opt in. Sponsor does not sell your information. Privacy Policy.
11. Release and limitation of liability
By entering you release Sponsor, its affiliates and LinkedIn from claims arising from your entry, participation, or acceptance or use of the prize, including travel and conference attendance. Sponsor is not responsible for flight delays or cancellations, conference changes or cancellation, or technical failures. If the conference is cancelled or postponed, Sponsor's only obligation is to provide the prize for the rescheduled event or a comparable substitute.
12. General conditions
Sponsor may cancel, suspend or modify the Contest if fraud, technical failure or other factors affect its integrity, and may disqualify anyone who tampers with entry or breaks these rules.
13. Governing law
Laws of the State of New York; disputes in the courts of New York County, New York.
